...a trick party for Co. A (nites) at the EM club, I estimate to be sometime in the latter part of the year in 1970. A lot of faces here... I only remember a few. In the front, 4th from the left is SFC Carney. In the very back wearing glasses and giving the peace sign was the CO, a Captain. I can't remember his name. I remember every face but only a few names. |
| I also spent some time at the 265th flying LeftBank. The last couple of months that I was in-country, I was flying less and being more the company courier and EM Club manager. The 265th had a good thing going with the club. We could open any time in the morning but any other EM club on Camp Eagle | could not open until some time in the afternoon (because our chain of command was different then that of the 101st.) Also, and most importantly, whenever there was a USO type show at the 8th, we got to bring them to the 265th for our own private show if certain conditions were right. Weather for one. |
| ...the 265th RRC Bar & Grill at Camp Eagle taken in the August 1971 time frame. You can see the new addition to the club which we painstakingly built with our own hands [with] stolen material. We needed to build the addition so that we could have our "Floor Shows" during the rainy season. Notice the hooch's up the hill on the right of the photo. I lived in the farthest hooch and the path to get there was quite treacherous especially at night after spending time in the club. |

| We had some good shows and parties at the 265th B&G. Soon after finishing the new addition we had a company party and during this party Irv Reno (company clerk) and I went around to everyone in the company and ripped the name tag off their uniforms so that we could make a long ribbon of name tags stapled together for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Grand Opening of our club which we had during a visit by one of the touring bands that also played the 8th EM club. This shot is yours truly assisting one of the beautiful band members cut the red (err, od green name tags) ribbon we made to inaugurate the new B&G. |

...more faces with only a few names I can remember during this show obviously having a great time. |
